supportive workplace can make. /n /nSchool Based LPN / RN Key
Responsibilities/n /n - /n Direct Nursing Services: Provide first
aid, illness treatment, and emergency care to students and staff in
accordance with professional standards, school policies, and state
mandates. /n /n - /n Health Assessments: Conduct health screenings
and assessments to identify health problems that may impact student
learning and development. /n /n - /n IEP & 504 Plan Support:
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement
health-related goals and accommodations for students with
disabilities as outlined in Individualized Education Programs
(IEPs) and 504 Plans. /n /n - /n Medication Management: Develop and
oversee medication protocols, ensuring safe storage,
administration, documentation, and monitoring of medications given
at school. /n /n - /n Health Education & Counseling: Provide health
education and counseling to students, staff, and families on
various health topics, including chronic conditions, nutrition, and
mental health. /n /n - /n Crisis Intervention: Respond to school
crises, such as medical emergencies, traumatic events, or deaths,
providing immediate support and coordinating with appropriate
personnel. /n /n - /n Compliance & Documentation: Maintain accurate
and confidential health records, ensuring compliance with state and
federal health regulations and school policies. /n /n - /n
Collaboration: Work closely with school administrators, teachers,
and parents to enhance cooperative action, meeting the health and
safety needs of students. /n /n /n /nQualifications/n /n - /n
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited
institution. /n /n - /n Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN)
licensure in the state of Missouri. /n /n - /n Certification:
Certification as a school nurse (Type 73) through the Missouri
Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, or the ability to
obtain certification within a specified timeframe. /n /n - /n
Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
/n /n - /n Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and
critical thinking skills. /n /n - /n Additional Requirements: CPR
certification and the ability to pass a criminal background check.
/n /n /n /nPhysical Demands/n /n - /n Environment: Occasional
exposure to typical school conditions, including dust, noise, and
changing environments. /n /n - /n Activity: Frequent standing,
walking, and occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs, with or without
reasonable accommodations. /n /n - /n Sensory: Ability to perform
essential job functions with or without assistive devices or
accommodations, including in moderate to high noise environments.
