Job Description Job Description CNC Programmer and Operator 1st
shift - Pay Rate $35/hr. Job Description We are seeking a skilled
CNC Programmer who is also willing to operate CNC equipment and
supervise a team of operators in a dynamic machine shop
environment. The ideal candidate will spend approximately 50% of
their time on CNC programming and CAM development, 40% on machine
operation, and 10% on leadership and shop supervision.
Responsibilities Develop, optimize, and validate CNC programs using
GibbsCAM and/or Mastercam. Incorporate design changes and
collaborate with engineering to update CAM strategies. Translate
CAD models from AutoCAD, Inventor, and SolidWorks into reliable
machining code. Make on-machine program adjustments to improve
cycle times, tool life, and part quality. Support operators with
adjustments to make their process smoother and more efficient.
Leverage operator feedback and process data to refine future
programs. Set up and operate mills, lathes, and surface grinders
with minimal supervision. Execute complex setups, tool changes, and
first-article runs. Maintain tooling, fixtures, and machine
calibration to ensure consistency. Perform preventative checks,
in-process inspection, and final quality verification. Provide
actionable feedback on feeds, speeds, and cutting strategies.
Champion cleanliness, organization, and readiness of all equipment.
Lead daily machine shop operations with a focus on safety, quality,
and throughput. Train, mentor, and evaluate machine operators;
promote a culture of continuous learning. Coordinate schedules,
prioritize workload, and ensure manpower utilization aligns with
production goals and delivery schedules. Proactively resolve unsafe
conditions and operational bottlenecks. Facilitate planning
meetings, capacity reviews, and job staging. Assist with
improvements to workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs),
and tooling strategies. Enforce 5S principles to maintain
organized, hazard-free workspaces. Essential Skills Proven
experience in CNC programming and machine operation. Proficient
with GibbsCAM and/or Mastercam. Strong understanding of CAD-to-CAM
workflows (AutoCAD, Inventor, SolidWorks). Demonstrated leadership
or supervisory experience. Ability to troubleshoot and optimize
machining processes. Excellent communication and team development
skills. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Additional
Skills & Qualifications Experience with leadership and shop
supervision is preferred but not required. Willingness to lead and

hours are 7am to 3:30pm, Monday through Friday, with some overtime
as needed. The team consists of three operators, and the shop

& Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas
City, KS. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is
$34.00 - $45.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits
