The Enterprise Data Governance Framework enables the firm to maximize the ability to generate value through its data in a structured, consistent, scalable and trusted manner. Data Ownership and Stewardship roles are a tangible function of the firm's data governance framework - ensuring our data is cared for through its complete lifecycle, as an enterprise asset. This new function will partner closely with the Data Governance Center of Excellence and is responsible to activate and mature our data stewardship community using the firm's newly created data governance framework and data roles (data owners, stewards, and custodians). The Director of Data Stewardship is accountable for maintaining data quality and integrity within a respective business data domain, ensuring accuracy, availability, completeness and trust in the data across the enterprise. Accountable for enterprise data domain strategy and to ensure the strategic view of data over its entire lifecycle Accountable to ensure domain data meets the needs of consuming stakeholders and supports the firm's current and future business needs Leads and influences the prioritization of firm data needs and consuming stakeholder needs by partners across the enterprise - with other data domain owners, sub domain owners, data stewards, product teams and business stakeholders Be a change agent for data literacy, lead Data Steward Team Leaders and data sub domain owners, and collaborate with different parts of the organization to advance and mature our data governance posture via our stewardship community Accountable to ensure best practices are being leveraged and enforced in firm initiatives via the stewardship community, which requires partnering closely with the Data Governance COE (center of excellence). Help define, implement, and support our data stewardship operating model. Partner with the Data Governance COE to define key performance indicators, including data quality, to monitor and track the health and growth of our data assets. Lead change management, communication, training, and education initiatives. Responsible within their area for recruiting, hiring, and developing diverse talent necessary to fulfill our vision for the organization and achieve key outcomes. Develop and manage business relationships with leaders across the organization in order to lead and contribute to key initiatives and/or respond to regulatory requests. Provide thought leadership and align the work of the area to the overall strategy of Data Governance and the specific business area. Problem Solving: Utilize data from multiple sources to understand the root cause of problems Decisions will be highly complex, non-routine and may typically have significant implications technically and financially. Associate will be responsible to lead others to approach issues and provide solutions that recognize highly complex interrelationships among business areas and provide recommendations based on logical assumptions, relevant facts, examination of alternatives and consideration of available resource. Associate will work independently with minimal guidance from leadership. Decision Making: The Director of Data Stewardship is responsible for making decisions that impact the Firm's strategies and operations. The decisions are often complex and non-routine, requiring the ability to analyze, interpret, and decide based on limited and unfamiliar information. Decisions should reflect current trends in the financial services industry, data strategy / data governance best practices, operational best practices, and the Firm's strategy. Bachelor's degree, or equivalent combination of education & experience is required with an emphasis in Business, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or MIS strongly preferred. Advanced degree or certification preferred 12-15 years of experience with progressive responsibility, preferably in roles related to data governance, data management, data analytics, and/or executing strategic programs. Prior leadership experience with increasing levels of responsibility. Advanced to expert level understanding of data and analytics. Significant experience in the financial services industry. 5 years leading associates or leading in a matrixed environment on large governance projects preferred. Series 99 or Series 7 required within 6 months. Preference to candidates with knowledge of data governance best practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets. Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship skills Experience in Wealth Management / Financial Services industry, functional and/or technical area of expertise.
