Responsibilities:
- Support healthcare professionals in research and education.
Lilly Oncology's Medical Science Liaison (MSL) program aids
Scientific Experts (SEs) in gaining deep knowledge of current
scientific and clinical information, maintaining therapeutic
knowledge about Lilly and competitors, and addressing issues in
oncology.
- Gather feedback from SEs to inform Lilly's research and
strategic directions within the Oncology Business Unit.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external clients and
internal partners, primarily spending 70-80% of time with external
SEs, educators, and investigators within a specified
geography.
- Serve as Lilly's representative to healthcare professionals,
providing detailed disease state and product information, and
connecting SEs with internal resources.
- Report clinical insights and customer inquiries to medical
affairs, clinical development, and brand teams.
- Maintain technical expertise in the therapeutic area through
continuous learning, attending scientific meetings, and literature
searches.
- Implement administrative activities effectively, utilizing
approved resources and ensuring compliance with procedural, legal,
and documentation standards.
Basic Qualifications:
- Advanced degree in health sciences (PharmD, MD, PhD) with 2-3
years of clinical experience.
- Masters or bachelor's in health sciences (RN, RPh, PA, NP) with
5+ years of relevant oncology experience considered.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Legal authorization to work in the US; sponsorship not
anticipated.
Additional Skills/Preferences:
- Clinical oncology experience, including working with patients
in hospital or outpatient settings.
- Strong scientific curiosity and ability to understand and
communicate complex scientific content clearly.
- Experience servicing customer needs for complex information,
working with demanding clients, and multitasking.
- Proficiency in literature evaluation, presentation, and
computer skills.
- Experience in professional networking and familiarity with
medical research and education processes.
- Ability to travel up to 60% overnight, including work on
weekends.
Location:
- Preferably near a major airport; coverage includes Minnesota,
Iowa, Missouri, North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas,
Oklahoma, Wisconsin, Illinois.
Additional Information:
- Field-based role with approximately 60% overnight
travel.
- Must be adept with electronic communication tools.
