Job Description Job Title: Psychiatrist Location: St. Joseph ,MO 64506 Duration: Full Time Shift: 8:00am to 4:30pm Mon to Friday. Hours/Week: 40 Hours/Week • Supervision of psychiatric services and coordination of other treatment modalities, supervision of Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner, initial treatment planning, comprehensive multidisciplinary treatment planning, Individual psychotherapy, group psychotherapy in Family therapy, Behavior therapy, Substance abuse treatment, evaluation for guardianship, conditional and unconditional release evaluations, and court testimony • We are an inpatient hospital (20 patients unit, 16 patients in a less restrictive, cottage setting). The psychiatrist will work with a Nurse Practioner who helps with the case load. The admit and discharge rate is low. • Typically 1-3 patients per month but then again some months there are no admissions. The expectation is a weekly note for the first 8 weeks after admission then a monthly note thereafter. • NGRI and SVP status require court ordered conditional release. • Patients have been adjudicated PIST and a few NGRIs. • Experience working in an inpatient forensic setting is helpful. • Our facility is a minimum security state hospital. • Board-eligible or board-certified psychiatrist. • Doctoral degree (MD or DO).
