Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights -
Employment Type: Travel /n Job Description/n American Traveler is
seeking an experienced RN for a Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
position with cardiac and telemetry experience, requiring a MO or
compact RN license. /n /n Responsibilities/n - Work in the PCU of a
tertiary care, teaching, Magnet-designated hospital - Care for
cardiac patients with a nurse-to-patient ratio typically 1:5,
occasionally flexing to 1:6 - Patient population includes post
cardiac angiogram, MI, cardiac cath, cardiac surgery, and renal
failure cases - Weekend requirement is 8 shifts in a 6-week
schedule, with combinations of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday - Night
shifts (3x12 hours, 18:45-07:15) - Regular floating between
departments, units, and facilities may be required - EPIC EMR is
used, and completion of EPIC training and test-out modules is
required - Responsibilities include cardiac monitoring, management
of cardiac and renal failure patients, and post-procedural care -
Team environment with requirement to provide holiday shift coverage
and serve as charge RN if needed - Onboarding includes 10-15 hours
of compliance modules and additional preparation for EPIC, infusion
pump, and glucometer training - All candidates must complete drug
screening and labs within specified timelines - No travel partners
accepted for this assignment - First-time travelers are welcome to
apply - Candidates must live at least 75 miles from the facility;
locals are not accepted - Request up to 7 days of time off (RTO)
during assignment - Dress code and scrub requirements will be
provided upon onboarding /n /n Requirements/n - Active MO or
compact RN license in hand at time of consideration - At least 2
years of recent specialty experience in PCU or similar
telemetry/cardiac units - Recent teaching hospital experience
required - BLS and ACLS certifications required - Proficiency with
cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation, rapid response,
emergency response, and telemetry monitoring - IV therapy,
phlebotomy, hemodialysis management, ventilator and airway
management, and wound care skills required - Experience managing
cardiac drips and vasoactive drips (no titration) - Ability to
float as needed and willingness to work as charge RN as required -
2 professional references required, including at least one from a
supervisor or above within the past year - No employment gap
greater than 90 days within the past year in specialty /n
