Nuclear Medicine Tech Location: Topeka, KS Agency: Thrive Staffing Pay: $2,852 to $3,046 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 26 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title Nuclear Med Tech City/State: Topeka, Kansas Shift: 8 Hour Days, 08:00:00-16:00:00 Contract Length: 26 weeks Start Date: 02/23/2026 Job Description: In need of a Nuclear Medicine Technologist for their mobile clinic starting ASAP. The traveler will show up each shift to Stormont's main campus then get on the truck and go to the scheduled clinic location for the day then return back to main campus at end of day. They have several clinics under their health system and the traveler will rotate at those locations. Responsibilities: Practices radiation protection techniques (ALARA) to minimize radiation exposure. Perform area survey on assigned working areas. All necessary documentation is clear and comprehensive. Processes and routes patient charts. Responds to code blue situations. Provide instruction and technical guidance while training new employees. Contributes to a team atmosphere by demonstrating excellent communication skills and positive interactions. Makes recommendations to the Lead Nuclear Technologist / Department Manager for capital and operating budget needs. Orders, receives, and returns radioactive materials from radio pharmacy. Orders and stocks supplies, cleans rooms, and equipment to maintain work environment. Performs IV puncture, utilizing proper injection techniques while injecting radiopharmaceuticals. Prepare and administer I-131 thyroid therapies. Requirements: Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist - NMTCB required. ARRT is also accepted. Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
