This contract position offers an opportunity to serve as a Registered Nurse providing essential health services within a school district located in Independence, MO. The role involves supporting students from PreK through 12th grade, ensuring their well-being during the school day. Candidates should be comfortable working independently and managing their own health room after an initial training period. Key Responsibilities: - Float between multiple schools within the district, covering general health room duties - Provide direct nursing care to students with diverse healthcare needs - Manage health room operations independently following a two-week training with an experienced nurse - Communicate effectively with staff, students, and parents, including making critical healthcare decisions autonomously - Adapt to fluctuating schedules, which may vary seasonally and require flexibility for early or late shifts and last-minute changes - Utilize electronic medical record systems proficiently for accurate and timely charting - Support students across all grade levels (PreK-12) and collaborate within the school environment Qualifications: - Current and valid Missouri RN license with a clean record verified via Nursys - Recent pediatric nursing experience, preferably in ICU, emergency room, or school settings; new graduates are not eligible - Strong technological skills and ability to multitask effectively - Comfortable working independently and making autonomous decisions - Flexibility to accommodate varying daily schedules and work locations within the district Location: - Independence, Missouri (no travel candidates accepted) Schedule: - Approximately 37.5 hours/week with varying shifts between 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM depending on assigned school - Weekly schedules provided on Sundays, with potential changes during the week Candidates interested in this valuable opportunity to support student health are encouraged to apply.
