registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1 years RN experience
required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not
be considered. A registered nurse with recent pediatric experience
is needed for a contract position in Independence, MO, supporting a
school district. This role involves providing nursing care across
multiple schools, managing individual health rooms, and working
with PreK-12 students. Responsibilities: - Float between schools
within the district to cover general health room needs. - Manage
your own health room after a two-week training period. - Make
independent medical decisions and communicate effectively with
school staff and parents. - Document care accurately using
computer-based electronic charting systems. - Adapt to variable
schedules that may change weekly or even on short notice, with work
hours ranging from approximately 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. - Provide
nursing coverage in elementary and high school settings.
Qualifications: - Current Registered Nurse license valid in
Missouri with no disciplinary actions. - Recent pediatric nursing
experience, preferably in ICU, ER, or school nursing environments.
- Comfort working independently and making autonomous decisions. -
Strong computer skills and the ability to multitask in electronic
health record systems. - Flexibility in scheduling and willingness
to work with students from PreK through 12th grade. Location and
Schedule: - Based in Independence, MO; no travel outside the
district required. - Full-time, 37.5 hours weekly with varied daily
start times depending on school. This position offers the
opportunity to work independently while supporting student health
across a dynamic school district. Candidates will first have a
phone prescreen followed by a Zoom interview with the coordinator.
