Registered Nurse to support general health services within a school
district in Independence, MO. This contract position involves
providing comprehensive nursing care across multiple sites, ranging
from Pre-K through 12th grade, while ensuring a safe and healthy
environment for students. Key Responsibilities: - Float within the
districts schools to serve as the general health room nurse,
potentially covering more than one site per day. - Provide nursing
services during field trips and special events as needed. - Manage
and operate the school health room independently after a two-week
training period. - Chart and document all nursing activities
electronically with a strong proficiency in computer systems and
multitasking. - Adapt to varied schedules based on school start and
end times, with hours ranging between 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM. -
Communicate effectively and maintain flexibility to accommodate
schedule changes that may occur on short notice. Qualifications and
Experience: - Current and clear RN license in Missouri with
verification via NURSYS and no license restrictions. - Pediatric
nursing experience is required, preferably from ICU, ER, or school
nursing environments. - Recent experience in school nursing with a
demonstrated ability to work independently. - Comfortable working
with students across all grade levels (Pre-K through 12th grade). -
Strong organizational and communication skills, along with
adaptability to a dynamic schedule. - Not suitable for new
graduates. Location: - Independence, Missouri (must be local with
