Ryder, a leader in transportation and logistics, is seeking a skilled CDL A Truck Driver for Over the Road (OTR) routes to help enhance our operations. Our OTR drivers are key players in ensuring timely and safe delivery of goods across multiple states. In this role, you will be responsible for driving long distances while maintaining compliance with safety standards and operational directives. Transport goods and materials over long distances using a tractor-trailer as per dispatch instructions. Perform vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure functionality and safety. Adhere to route schedules, while managing hours of service to maximize route efficiency. Maintain logs of working hours and vehicle service or repair status, following applicable state and federal regulations. Monitor and manage fuel consumption and expenses, using convenience apps and tools provided by Ryder. Communicate effectively with logistics coordinators for updates, delays, or delivery issues. Ensure compliance with company policies and federal transport regulations. Proficient in driving large vehicles, including tractor-trailers. Ability to operate electronic logging devices (ELDs) and other logistics software. Strong time management and navigation skills. Excellent physical health to manage cargo and long periods of driving. Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with clients and depot staff. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance 401k Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL A). Must have a clean driving record. Current Department of Transportation (DOT) medical certification.
