Residents RightsMaintaining confidentiality of all pertinent Resident informationKnock before entering a Resident's roomPromotes Resident advocacy (Resident right to choose.)Has access to Resident Directory Information, allergies , dietary orders and code status2. Department specificsFollow proper procedures for setting up the dishwasher, washing resident and staff dishes, utensils, flat ware, trays Dietary department's pots, pans and utensils.Properly clean the dishwasher.Follow posted cleaning schedule utilizing proper procedures.Follow directions of Dietary Manager or designated acting manager.Be courteous, considerate and cooperative in dealing with all facility personnel and residents.React properly to emergency situations and disasters.Fill water, juice and milk glasses, pass silverware and water, milk and juices as indicated.Assist the cook; set up trays for assisted dining room.Serve meals in main dining room as indicated.Clean dishes from all dining rooms, wash tables, wash dishes and any pans that need to be cleaned.Clean all serving areas and coffee stationEmpty trash bins.Follow proper procedure for receiving foods and supplies.Properly store, following established procedures, foods and supplies. Understand and follow color coding and abbreviations of tray cards and therapeutic menusAnswer call lights and meet the resident's need according to state and federal guide lines3. CommunicationPromote positive/open communication between team members, residents, visitors, and other departments.Promptly and accurately informs appropriate supervisor of department, facility, and individual changes in conditionMaintain a professional image at all timesUtilizes problem solving skills to obtain appropriate resolutionsDevelops and maintains open/trusting professional relationships with othersThrough appropriate communication shows support for other team members and facilityReport damages and non-working items to your supervisor4. Safety and SanitationEnsures that safety regulations and precautions are followed at all times by all personnel.Follows established Infection Control and Body Substance Precautions policies and procedures when preforming duty tasks.Preforms scheduled cleaning duties in accordance with established policies. Fills out and files reports as directed.Keeps work areas free of hazardous objects (unnecessary equipment or supplies)Follows established hand washing proceduresReports all hazardous conditions of equipmentFollows Fire and Disaster Plan PoliciesReports all accidents to supervisor. Fills out and files reports as directedEnsures MSDS books are available and report any illegible labels to the appropriate supervisor5. In-service/ Continuing EducationAttend in-service and educational classesAttend department and staff meetingMaintain appropriate certification6. Personnel ManagementDevelop and maintain a good working rapport with inter-departmental personnel as well as with other departments within the facility to meet the needs of the residentsCreate and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the departmentParticipate and assist in departmental studies and projects as assigned or that may become necessaryAssist new employeesStay open to new ideas and changes in the department and/or facility7.
