This position will also perform routine X-ray examinations in accordance with Concentra policies, practices, and procedures and applicable regulations. This role requires efficient and accurate delivery of one-on-one patient care while thriving in a fast-paced environment. The MSS ensures that every patient is treated with quality clinical care and receives an excellent patient experience from welcoming, respectful, and skillful colleagues.Responsibilities:Perform Department of Transportation (DOT) and Non-DOT drug and alcohol testingPrepare patients for physical examinations, including taking vital signs and any required or requested ancillary testing including but not limited to vaccines and injections, phlebotomy, PFTs, audiogram testing and respirator fit testingPerform rapid screening tests (influenza, strep, mono, glucose, etc.)Assist providers during examination and treatmentResponsible for performing routine medical procedures as ordered by treating clinician as well as triaging emergent patients as neededPrepare and assist clinician with procedure set up and injury careApply bandages, dressings and splints as ordered by the treating clinicianDispense medications and DME as ordered by the treating clinician in accordance with state regulationsComplete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the centerMaintain supplies, clean rooms and equipment, and stock exam roomsMaintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and proceduresNotify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expectedIn partnership with center leadership, assist with patient flow and volumeKeep patients informed of expected wait times during all aspects of the center visitResponsible for clerical tasks in both the front and back office associated with patient care and proper record keepingEnsure accuracy in documentationPerform front office duties: greet patients, obtain authorization, check in/out, communicate wait times, answer multiline telephone system, and distribute employer results/paperwork as neededFollow HIPAA guidelines and safety rulesAttend center staff meetings or huddles as requiredAssist in maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly appearance throughout the facilityComplete any applicable training including but not limited to clinical competency training that occurs monthly.X Ray Technician DutiesPrepare patients for X-Ray exam, position patients based upon the type of procedure to be performedAdminister imaging exams as ordered by the treating clinician which may include X-Rays, sonograms, CT scans, etc.Adjust switches regulating length and intensity of exposureMaintain quality assurance by performing appropriate validity tests and keeping quality assurance records, as required by Concentra X-Ray Compliance ManualMaintain radiological film files and storage, pulls X-Rays as requested for referrals and/or copyingKeep logs for X-Rays sent out for referralsAdminister drugs or chemical mixtures orally or as enemas to render organs opaqueAssist in treating diseased or affected areas of body under supervision of Physician, by exposing area to specified concentrations of X-Rays for prescribed periods of timePrepare reports and maintains records of services rendered and X-Rays sent out for referrals.Assist providers during examination and treatmentMaintain and operate all medical devices and equipment, including calibration and record keeping in accordance with current policy and proceduresComplete quality assurance activities on equipment and medical devices as well as testing processes used in the centerNotify supervisor immediately if equipment is not functioning properly, supplies are needed, or facility is not operating as expectedManage patient flow and volume ensuring patients are informed of expected wait timesResponsible for clerical tasks in both the front and back office associated with patient care such as greeting patients, obtaining authorization, check in/out, communicating wait times and proper record keeping and documentationThis job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.Qualifications:High school graduate or GED equivalentMedical Assistant Certification from an accredited school (credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulations) or Military Medical Specialist with current Medical Assistant credentials in the state of employment in accordance with state requirements and applicable regulationsCPR/First Aid CertificationJob-related ExperienceCustomarily has at least six months or more of medical assistant experience with knowledge of medical procedures and medical terminologyCustomarily has at least six months of demonstrated experience in X-Ray and familiarity with routine medical proceduresWorking knowledge of occupational medicine requirements (state specific) is preferred with prior medical office, healthcare and/or customer service-related experience.Physical/vision requirementsThe employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Helps lift patients weighting up to 300 pounds to place them in appropriate positions for operation of equipment.
