here! A Patient Care Technicians main role is toprovide basic care
to patients, as well as assist them with things they mighthave
trouble with on their own, such as bathing. Because of the personal
natureof the job, a Patient Care Technician has strong people
skills and the abilityto be compassionate and enjoy helping others.
About this unit:
- If you like variety, working as a PCT is for you. Each shift
will be exciting, different and challenging!
- As a hands-on caregiver, you are the one who has the privilege
of holding a patient's hand and listening to the person's life
story.
- 36 Bed Unit focused on Medical Surgical Patients and Oncology
Patients
- Varietyof modalities including: medical, pulmonary, GI, COPD,
Asthma, Renal, Surgerypatients, Oncology, GIP Program
partnership
- StrongTeam environment, collaborative and supportive, with
development for careergrowth, educator on unit.
- 10to 12 Patient Ratio for PCTs Responsibilities:
- ThePatient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality,
patient-centered care byperforming a variety of delegated basic
patient care services related to commonnursing functions and
activities of daily living.
- Under direct supervision of the Director orManager, and close
direction of a registered nurse, administers patient careand
related activities, services and/or procedures to promote the
physical andemotional health and personal comfort needs for
assigned patients.
- Delivery of patient care includes datacollection,
documentation, communication and implementation of patient
careinterventions in accordance with state Nursing Practice Acts
and generic/unitstructure standards.
- The Patient Care Technician provides care for youngadult
patients 17 years and up; adult patients between 18 to 64 years;
andgeriatric patients 65 years and older.
- A minimum of a High school diploma or GED required.
- 1+ years of experience in an acute care setting,
Preferred.
- Missouri Certified Nursing Assistant License required or
completion of the HCA Pre-Star Tech program within 60 days of hire
date.
- BCLS certification required upon hire unless completing the HCA
Pre-Star Tech program then BCLS required within 60 days of hire
date.
- No experience required - Must be able to attend 3 weeks of
training (Monday-Friday 8am-5pm) The Centerpoint hospital features
